Welcome to the Royal Starr Resort blog.
We’re Kasey and Angela, along with our children William and Eleanora, and we are the proud new owners of Royal Starr Resort on beautiful 6th Crow Wing Lake near Park Rapids, Minnesota.
This blog is where we’ll share the real story behind the resort — the journey, the challenges, the laughter, and the everyday moments of raising a family while running a northern Minnesota lake resort.
You’ll see the behind-the-scenes moments most guests never see, from early mornings preparing cabins to sunset dock walks after a long day.
Why We Chose This Life
For us, this journey started with a dream.
Angela grew up coming to the Park Rapids area during the summers. Those lake days, campfires, and long sunsets created the kind of memories that never fade.
After years of living in Nashville, Tennessee — pursuing music, teaching, and raising our young family — something kept pulling us back north.
When the opportunity to purchase this resort came along in January 2026, it felt like the right step at exactly the right time.
We packed up our lives, returned to Minnesota, and began a new chapter.
A Family-Run Resort
Royal Starr Resort is truly a family effort.
Our kids are growing up here on the lake, learning to appreciate nature, hard work, and the joy of welcoming people from all over the country.
Angela’s dad, Mark, is often around the lodge sharing stories and lending a hand — the kind of friendly conversation that makes a place feel like home.
Our goal is simple:
Create a place where families can slow down, reconnect, and make lasting memories together.
