Please notify someone working at the lodge of any items that are broken or not working in your cabin so we can get those fixed or replaced. We want your stay to be cozy and enjoyable.

POLICIES
DEPOSIT POLICY
There is a $200 deposit per bedroom. When booking online, the deposit is due at the time of booking. When making a phone reservation, a deposit is due within 7 business days. Failure to provide a deposit may lead to forfeiture of your reservation.

RESORT SAFETY POLICY
For the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all our guests, Royal Starr Resort maintains the following policies: The following items and activities are not permitted anywhere on resort property: Smoking inside cabins, pets (unless otherwise approved per our pet policy), fireworks, and portable fire rings. ATVs are not permitted on resort trails or near cabins (unless loading and unloading before or after a trail ride). Please contact us for information regarding designated parking area and local trail access. These policies apply to all registered guests and their visitors. No exceptions. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, peaceful, and family-friendly environment for everyone.
EXTRA GUESTS & VISITORS POLICY
We’re happy to welcome your friends and family to enjoy Royal Starr Resort with you. Guests are welcome to have day visitors during their stay. All guests must register at the lodge per state requirement. A fee of $20 per person, per day applies. Children age 3 and under are free, but must still be included in the total guest count for capacity purposes. Overnight guests are subject to a fee of $50 per person, per night or an additional $300 for the week. All overnight guests must be included in your reservation and approved in advance. Each cabin has a maximum occupancy limit, which must be strictly followed. This limit includes all guests, visitors, and children,regardless of age. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all guests.
PET & SERVICE ANIMAL POLICY
Royal Starr Resort maintains a pet policy to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests, therefore we do not allow pets of any kind except in accordance with federal law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), we welcome service animals. Service Animals: Service animals are not considered pets and are permitted in all areas of the resort where guests are allowed. A service animal is defined as an animal that has been individually trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability. We do not require documentation or certification for service animals. If the service provided is not apparent, we may ask: - Whether the animal is required due to a disability - What task the animal has been trained to perform. Guests are responsible for the care and supervision of their animal: - Service animals must be under control at all times and housebroken. - Service animals must be on a leash at all times while in public spaces on Royal Starr Resort property. There are no additional fees for service animals; however, guests may be responsible for any damages caused during their stay. Emotional Support Animals: Emotional support animals, therapy animals, and comfort animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and are subject to our standard pet policy.
RENTAL POLICY
Signed Rental Agreement Required – A waiver and rental agreement must be signed before any boat or pontoon may be used.
Life Jackets Required – All passengers must wear life jackets while on board.
No Smoking – Smoking is not permitted on boats or pontoons.
No Pets – Pets are not allowed on rental watercraft.
No Water Sports – Tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, and wake surfing are not permitted with rental boats or pontoons.
Damage Responsibility – Renters are responsible for any damage to the boat, motor, or equipment during the rental period.
Safe Operation Required – Boats must be operated responsibly and in accordance with Minnesota boating laws.
PARKING & BOAT TRAILER POLICY
To ensure a safe, organized, and enjoyable experience for all guests, we ask that the following parking guidelines be observed: Each cabin is limited to 2 vehicles, with 1 additional vehicle for day visitors. Please park only in designated areas and be mindful of neighboring cabins and shared spaces. Each cabin is permitted 1 boat during their stay. If you are bringing a boat, please let us know when you're making your reservation. Upon arrival, bring your boat down to the lodge and check in. Our team will assist with launching your boat and park your trailer for you in a designated area. Boat trailers are not permitted near cabins or in guest parking areas. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep the resort safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone.
BEACH & WATER EQUIPMENT POLICY
Our beach area is designed for fun, relaxation, and making lasting lake memories. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, please follow the guidelines below. Swim at Your Own Risk! There is no lifeguard on duty at any time! All swimming and water activities are at your own risk! No diving! Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Water Slide & Floating Pads: The water slide and floating pads are for swimmers only, no rough play, pushing, or overcrowding. Please use caution when climbing, sliding, and entering the water. Be aware of other swimmers at all times. Kayaks, Canoes, Paddle Boards & Paddle Boats: Equipment is available for guest use on a first-come, first-served basis. A life jacket is required for all users at all times. Please return equipment to the designated area after use. Do not leave equipment unattended in the water or on other shorelines. General Beach Guidelines: Be respectful of other guests and shared spaces, keep the beach clean—please dispose of trash properly, glass containers are not permitted in the beach area. Weather & Water Conditions: Guests are responsible for monitoring weather conditions, do not use water equipment during storms, high winds, or unsafe conditions. By using the beach and water equipment at Royal Starr Resort, guests agree to follow these guidelines and accept responsibility for their safety and the care of shared equipment. LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK POLICY
At Royal Starr Resort, we are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests. However, by staying at the resort and using its amenities, guests acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with outdoor and recreational activities. Assumption of Risk: Guests understand that activities such as swimming, boating, use of water equipment, campfires, winter activities, and general outdoor recreation involve inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, and property damage.
All guests participate in these activities at their own risk. Release of Liability: Royal Starr Resort, its owners, and staff shall not be held liable for any injuries, accidents, losses, or damages to persons or property that occur during a guest’s stay, including use of cabins, docks, boats, beach areas, trails, or any resort amenities. Guests are responsible for: Supervising children at all times, using equipment safely and as intended, following all posted rules, policies, and local laws, exercising caution based on weather and lake conditions. Personal Property: Royal Starr Resort is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. By staying at Royal Starr Resort, guests acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to this Liability & Assumption of Risk Policy. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
EARLY DEPARTURE POLICY
No refunds will be given for early departures or unused nights. No exceptions.
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE
Royal Starr Resort reserves the right to refuse service or ask guests to leave the property for violation of resort policies, unsafe behavior, or disturbance to other guests.
QUIET HOURS POLICY
To ensure a peaceful and enjoyable experience for all guests, Royal Starr Resort observes quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM daily. During this time, we kindly ask that guests: Keep voices, music, and outdoor activities at a respectful volume Avoid loud gatherings or disruptive behavior Be mindful of neighboring cabins and shared spaces
MAINTENANCE / ISSUE REPORTING
Please report any issues or maintenance concerns as soon as possible so we can address them promptly.
FIREWOOD & CAMPFIRE POLICY
Firewood is available at multiple locations throughout the resort and is included as a complimentary amenity for our guests to enjoy. To ensure all guests have access during their stay, we kindly ask that each cabin limit usage to approximately one bundle of firewood per day. For safety and to protect the natural surroundings, guests must follow all local fire regulations. Please be aware of any county-issued burn bans or restrictions, especially during dry conditions. If you are unsure, we are always happy to provide current guidance. Campfires are permitted in designated fire pit areas only and must never be left unattended. Thank you for helping us keep Royal Starr safe and enjoyable for everyone.
DAMAGED & MISSING ITEMS POLICY
At Royal Starr Resort, we take great pride in maintaining our cabins, boats, and grounds so every guest can enjoy a clean, safe, and relaxing experience. Guests are responsible for any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning required to cabins, boats, equipment, or any property belonging to Royal Starr Resort during their stay. This includes, but is not limited to: - Damage to or missing furniture, appliances, or fixtures - Stains, spills, or excessive mess requiring deep cleaning - Missing or damaged linens, towels, or kitchen items - Damage to or missing docks, boats, pontoons, or rental equipment - Improper use of property or failure to follow posted guidelines Charges & Payment: - Any damage or additional cleaning required will be assessed after check-out and charged to the payment method on file. - Guests will be notified of any charges, along with a description of the damage and associated costs. Care & Respect: - We simply ask that you treat the resort as you would your own home—so it can be enjoyed by families for years to come.
HOUSEKEEPING & DEPARTURE POLICIES
To help us prepare each cabin for the next arriving guests and keep everything running smoothly, we kindly ask that you complete the following before departure: Do not make any used beds. Dishes Cleaned & Put Away – Please wash, dry, and return all dishes and utensils to their proper place. No Kitchen Items Outside – Dishes, cups, and utensils should remain in the cabin and not be taken to the beach or other areas. Trash Removal – Please bag all trash and dispose of it in the designated trash area. Light Clean-Up – Wipe down counters and leave the cabin in tidy condition. Remotes Returned – Place TV remotes on the main counter and return the mini-split remote to its wall mount. Personal Belongings – Double-check the cabin for any personal items before you leave. Additional cleaning fees up to $100 may apply if excessive cleaning is required. We truly appreciate your help in caring for the cabins—your efforts allow us to create a clean, welcoming experience for every guest who arrives after you.
LEFT BEHIND ITEMS POLICY
Items can be returned upon request. Guest pays shipping + handling items held for up to 7 days after departure.
